Swaps sent and swaps received

I signed up for the worldwide swap with Dawn Rapas and today I received them! This is a lovely folder project by Sue Begger my swap sister. Inside opens up to reveal layered envelopes and inserts and a pretty envelope pocket.
This is Sue's 2nd swap, a decorated purse using SU s carosel notes. Again its gorgeous and beautifully stamped. I have been sent 2 gorgeous items and I love them! Thank you so much Sue.
These are my swaps that I sent to Sue. The first is a bag of tags made using old olive and real red card and ink and decorated with a little sprinkling of glitter. I used the tags for all stamp set.
and this is a wiper card (instructions from splitcoast) using almost amethyst, sage shadow and ski slope dsp. The stamp set is a new level 2 hostess set whimsical wings. The ribbon is choc chip.

Some quick projects

Hello! Just a couple of quick projects to keep my blog updated. This one is one of Lauren Meader's new templates the small "Its on the house".
Its super quick and easy to print and assemble and is so dinky and cute. I've stamped 3 of the circle circus stamps- another new stamp set up and coming in the new SU catologue. There are some ghirardelli milk chocolate squares inside which are just so yum!
(Of course I'm not eating them and by the way I lost another 2lb this week yay!!)
Cardstock is brocade blue with night of navy ink and ribbon.
Then as I was blog surfing I found this blog which led me to this tutorial and then I made this oh so adorable little magazine file with 4 cards. I used my pocket silhouette stamps for this and perfect plum and pale plum cardstock, so saffron dsp and some of Augusts free ribbon.

Silent night stamp class

This is the box of cards we will be making on Wednesday at my stamp class. We are using the Silent night and snow burst stamp sets.
The cardstock is night of navy and brocade blue with the images stamped on whisper white.
Heres a close up of the box. The ink is brocade blue which gives the image a softer feel and then I've stamped the snowflakes all around the edge. The box is tied at the top with some brocade blue ribbon.
The first card is a z fold. I've stamped the image this time in versa mark and embossed with white embossing powder and did the same around the edges of the cardstock.
The inside mat is embossed with the swiss dots folder for the cuttlebug. There is a label die cut inside with the verse stamped onto it. The greeting is from the circle of friendship stamp set.

On this card I have used rthe scallop edge punch to add detail and holiday greetings from the sincere salutations stamp set.
I have also stamped the snowflakes over the evelopes.

This is a tunnel card. If you look carefully you can see the verse through the aperture. Again i've stamped in versa mark and embossed with white embossing powder. I've also added extra snowflakes to embellish the aperture.

Animal tales

This is another tutorial on U Stamp by Irene Wendlandt. Its a little box filled with 4 of the love note cards.
I have used a new stamp set called Animal stories. I wasn't too sure at first but now I've got them and had a play, I quite like them.
The design papers are called Tall Tales and I really love these. The patterns are quite bold but really cute.
I used a bit of choc chip ribbon , Old Olive and So Saffron cardstock and my trusty scallop circle punch.
It was a quick little project for a Saturday afternoon to feed my craft craving!
Talking of craving, I'm starving and would LOVE a huge bit of chocolate cake LOL!
But I lost 4lb when I went to be weighed this morning so I MUST resist the urge.....
Bella is curled up at my feet asleep... not good... she howled last night and made Holly bark! So to get some much needed sleep (3am by this point) I switched places with Holly, she slept upstairs and I slept on the settee with said new pooch!! I'm hoping to catch up my sleep tonight.....

Sneak peeks

This gorgeous box is a class over on U Stamp fall 09 by Becky Roberts. I love Becky's tutorials and was really pleased when it was announced she would be one of the class designers.
There is a huge box bit at the top for goodies and a draw at the bottom to keep some cards in.
The stamp set is a newbie, Good friends by Stampin' Up!
I have also used my favourite colours choc chip and rose red.
Here's the box with the cards. I've made them the same but different IYKWIM lol!
And a close up of one of my favourites. I've also used the for you stamp from the all occasions stamp set.
On a different note I'm off to get weighed in the morning. I don't think I've lost any but I'll be upset if I haven't because I've been really good! Lol!!!! I'll let you know :)
Bella is fast asleep and I should be too. Bet she wakes up as soon as I shut the door! I had to get up a couple of times in the night cos she was crying so much. Didn't take long to settle her though.

Meet Bella

Meet Bella. She is rather gorgeous isn't she. She is one of my sister's puppies..... Well now she is ours! Paul brought her home tonight at teatime. After a play with the children she fell asleep next to Paul on the settee.
Love this photo!!
Playing with Laura earlier on. I have just given her some supper and now she is wide awake and chewing everything! (My slipper, my ankle and my fingers and not forgetting the bottom of the settee!)
I think I'm in for a busy night!

A very late project tuesday!

I saw this earlier in the week and thought....mmm I'd like a go at that. Anyway its taken me so long to get round to it I had a mad rush and made it tonight!
Its for the project tuesday blog and its another gift card. I didn't realise till after that everyone had made theirs with DP so this is made from Certainly celery c/s Sweet always DP and I've used my new and super cute Crazy for cupcakes stamps. (All from Stampin' Up!)
I've added a little sprinkling of seed beads to the top.
Heres the inside (as usual I have no gift card again!) but there is a little pocket for it to go in.
A great project ladies thanks. i thoroughly enjoyed it!

A lovely day

I've had a lovely day today. I have shared a very special day with my little sis and kids. It was her wedding anniversary today and we celebrated with roast dinner and a drop of asti! ( Day2 on diet-I was naughty and had a glass of asti but a super angel whilst they all ate their cheese cake. said polishing halo lol!)
All the kids had a great time and lots of giggles as they played dress up with the mounds of dressing up outfits my kids have in their wardrobes. I managed to catch Ollie as "Spiderman" and showing his muscles :) the others were a bit too shy.
This is the card I made for my sis and her hubby.
I used the baroque motifs stamp set. I love this swirl definately one of my faves.

I made a little box (Lauren Meaders fold and go) to put some little choccies in.
And after a phone call from said Hubby yesterday I made this card for him to give to Heather.
I adore these papers (Bloom and grow, my minds eye)
The image is a hangler coloured with water colour wonders.
Anyway their all asleep now and its a big day for eldest as she goes to senior school tomorrow. I think I am more nervous than she is lol!

New Blog

Well due to a comedy of errors, stress and tears last night I have had to start a new blog. As it stands at the moment I can no longer post on the original inky smudges :( So this is the new one "debbiesinkysmudges". I so wish I was more techie lol! (But I have managed a 3 column blog!)
The blog candy is still available and please continue to post a comment on there but I will announce the winner on here.
Heres a link to my old blog.

The card you see at the top was done using a sketch from the stamp with us blog this week. Thanks ladies some lovely inspiration.

I have used bashful blue, night of navy cardstock. After stamping the snow burst stamps I brayered some glossy paper with brocade blue ink, then stamped a snowflake on acetate with heat and stick powder and added glitter and assembled onto the card.
Anyway I have spent far too much time on here this morning and I need a cuppa will add everything on as I get time.
