A couple of ta dah's

Hello peeps!
Just a quick one today to show a couple of projects I've been working on over Christmas.
The first one is my finished cushion cover. I saw this stitch sometime ago last year and fell in love with it.

My squares weren't just big enough to fit my cushion so I just added an extra round of treble crochets.
It's happily sitting on my green Lloyd loom chair in my bedroom and makes me smile and squish it as I walk past.

I really think these yarn colours are yummy too.. It's James C Brett cotton on. Tis very soft and scrummy.
I had a little left over and spotted a post and pattern over on Heather's blog, Pink Milk ( which by the way is a fantastic blog with beautiful photographs and content) Heather shared a pattern for a big long cowl. I've been looking at my daughters that she had for Christmas admiring how cosy she looked, so when I saw this I thought it would be perfect.

Here it is....

And that's me there modelling it. Hee hee I'm not great at this selfie lark yet especially on my iPad lol!
Thanks for sharing the pattern Heather.

Right now

Right now we are enjoying a beautiful bunch of golden daffodils. I have them in the kitchen and they brighten the place up when the sun goes to the other side of the house

Right now the boys are building lego and feeling proud when its finished. ( And having sad moments when it breaks... glue me thinks??)

Right now I am craving hot chocolate and 5 minutes peace on these cold afternoons.

Right now the crochet hook has been hot! And these super projects are on there way to their new owners. The patterns are from Lisa, Micah makes, Holland designs and Repeat crafter me Thank you!

Right now I'm recieving happy post! A lovely new lunch bag from Lollyrocket and I've just signed up for a Graze box which was very exciting as I had to pick what I would like in my boxes. I'm hoping this will stop me eating chocolate and "picking" on the not so good stuff in the evening.

Oh yes and right there in the middle is my very naughty purchase of some Leighton Denny nailvarnish!! Nuff said lol ;)

Right now my gorgeous tea set from Cath Kidston is getting a good airing. This pattern is so pretty and delicate I just loves it!

I have a piece of carrot cake and a tea infusion from my graze box...they did not last long and were extremely yummy!

Enjoy your right now xx

My may rose wreath

I have loved looking at Lucy's Attic 24 blog for a long time now and really did enjoy doing her ripple pattern last year here.
I have admired her beautiful and bright may rose wreath ever since she posted about it, and now finally I have made my own!
I felt the same excitment as she did on completing the rainbow around my polystyrene ring and so enjoyed placing all my pretty flowers upon it.

Here it is propped up against my wool basket. I have now hung it in the hall for everyone to see.
Thank you Lucy, you truly are so very clever :) x

On the hoook

Working on a bit of a rug for the kitchen.
I happened upon a post on facebook here and then had a little search round the tinterweb and found that you can get the yarn Hoooked zpagetti here at Purple Linda's!
So excitment overtook me and i ordered some straight away :)
The doily pattern I'm using is from ravelry and is called 21st century doily, but you could use any pretty doily pattern.
It's not finished yet, I've used 2 spools I think I need one more to complete the edging...(it's on order!)
Bella is modelling the size , its quite big and I'll measure it when it's finished.
Look out for the ta da!

Crochet projects for 2012

Wow! so this little collage shows just a few of the crochet makes for this year! When I look through my photos I realised that my crochet hook has been smokin!
It's certainly true now that if I haven't done any crocheting all day I feel like there has been something missing.
I am loving my new found passion and to think it all started with an apple cosy from the first issue of Mollie makes!

Love...crochet

Hello!
Blogging seems to have fell by the wayside of late.
I've been busy doing lots of crochet grabbing chances whenever possible.....I'm addicted!
Talking about addictions, I love instagram! I'm quite a nosy person and adore looking at photos of other peoples crafts, homes and interests. Its wonderfully inspiring.
This flower bunting is my latest project I've made a few for a local shop, very exciting :)

On countdown now for school finishing and new and interesting opportunities for September when my TA role changes slightly and I move from nursery into year 1. Lovely too as lots of the children remember me and I'm looking forward to seeing their progress.

Had a super day at our local craft fair a couple of weeks ago. I attended with my baby crochet stuff. I'd love to set up a fan page for facebook but I need to find a good name. Any recomendations?

Here's a little look :)

Be back sooner x

Week in the life Wednesday

Ollie began the day with nutella on toast. We had heavy rain for most of the day, although the sun came out later while we did the school run. Today's special activity at nursery was to paint the teachers for the welcome board, this is me, I love how it looks like I'm loosing my skirt!
This afternoon I had me a little shopping trip, I bought a new bag and shoes for work and found this pretty pink scarf in the sale too.
I had a very resourceful trip at the library and found some gorgeous books to look at. Ollie chose a rather large book on science and when I asked him of he really wanted it he replied " yes mummy I love science!"
And finally I had a lovely evening with a packet of munchies, some crochet and the apprentice on the telly!

Week in the life Monday

Blogging from my iPod today.
Most phtos taken on my pod (all these were) and a few on the canon.
Just a quick collage of Monday starting with getting ready for work, painting spiders with the children at nursery, dog walking, a little bit of hookie and the school pick up. And not forgetting my naughty cream egg moment! Yum.
Favourite moments of today were watching the boys walking home together, as they always do. I love that they are such good friends.
I had a really good singalong while listening to my iPod, hopefully didn't deafen the neighbours at the same time!
See you tomorrow x

Just a quickie post to show you some more baby crochet that I've been doing.
I'm loving these at the mo, they're nice and quick to work up so it makes it very satisfying!

I'm loving these boots!
Last night I was making cowboy boots to go with a cowboy hat I made the previous night. Will post when I'm finished.

I've managed to get a table at a local craft fair in May so I'll need to get my hookie fingers smokin' !
I've found a new little wool shop yesterday so I'm off later for a little looksie... ;)

Rosy posy tea cosy

Whilst on pintrest the other day (love love love that place!) I stumbled across this gorgeous tea cosy which I tracked back to tales from cuckoo land.

I loved it and so I thought I might have a go for myself (well as a little pressie for mum and dads wedding anniversary.....well more mum than dad really lol!)

As there was no real pattern I basically winged it....and winged it wrong and had to frog it :(
Anyways I had another go after finding a pattern for a cosy with another stitch style. This time it worked and even though its not a patch on the cuckoos I am pretty pleased with it!

Mum was really pleased with it too, but said it was too pretty to use lol!

Back to Ollie's blanket tonight after going to the market this afternoon and replenishing my wool stock.

Hugs xx

Is my blanket done yet????

This is the phrase Ollie keeps asking everytime I fetch out this new gorgeousness....

I am loving crocheting so much I can't get enough! I've seen some lovely patterns I want to try and I just haven't got enough time or hands!

This is a blanket for Ollie's bedroom, I'd seen these colours together on someones hat and when I showed them to Ollie he loved them.

Just need him to understand that it will take me a couple of weeks or so before it's finished!
(especially as I have so many wips on the go)

;)

Dresser love

Just a couple of piccies to share today.
I picked up this beauty on ebay over the weekend, isn't it just gorgeous! Can't help but keep looking at it every time I walk in the kitchen and smiling to myself :).

And then over a couple of evenings I russelled myself  up a hotwater bottle cosy for all these chilly nights we've been having. The basic pattern for this one is from a book called Ilove crochet by Rachel Henderson and Sarah Hazell. I added a pink picot edge around it to pretty it up a bit :).
I've found another one on web now too and Jamie has asked for one in blue and red.

Anyways its holidays this week and I know there will be some serious decorating going on by Wednesday in Laura's room. (The sooner I get that room done, the sooner hubs might let me get on with the kitchen!)

Had a super breakfast with my bestie Lynne, chatting and flicking through her lateset stash of craftie books. Thank you my dear xxx

And just a quickie pic of my blossom cushion (pattern from attic 24... thanks)

I've used the same colours as my ripple blanket, doesn't it look yummy :)

Ripple ripple

I finished my ripple blanket on New Years day! I'm rather pleased as I only started it in October. Its not perfect but I love it and it looks rather pretty on the back of the settee.
It didn't stay there long though, as soon as Ollie spotted it he was under it!

My ripple pattern was from the lovely Lucy at Attic 24 a great source of inspiration! Thank you for sharing.

December escaped me again and I'm on catch up with my December Daily. I have all my photos but no ink in my printer :( I need to find some more hours in the day!

Playing hookie

Hello folks!I've been busy with my crochet needle these past few months. I'm not sure where the time goes. Here's a picture of my Bella with my wip of the moment, a ripple blanket. It's getting big enough now for her to snuggle in as I'm crocheting :)
Anyway as its December 1st I'm going to start my December daily project and hopefully(!) will manage to post everyday.....we'll see. I have my story for today in mind but it won't happen till later so I'll post tomorrow.
